Janine in the world

Hey, I’m Janine!

In 2010, a study abroad program in Xalapa, Veracruz, convinced me that Mexico was where I belonged. In 2017, I packed my bags and moved to Mexico to try living there as an extranjera. My passion for Mexico travel has only grown since then.

If you’re a female traveler who is curious about immersive experiences in Mexico travel, then you’re in the right place!

Here, you’ll find insider tips for safe Mexico travel and compelling itineraries detailing all the most interesting activities in lesser-known and popular travel destinations in Mexico (both on and off the beaten path).

I’ll be providing you with plenty of destination inspiration for your next Mexico travel adventure. There’s far more to Mexico than resorts (they’re cool, too, though), and you’ll learn all about it here.

I believe solo travel can be a transformative experience, but I think it’s important that even in our quest for introspection and self-actualization, we don’t forget to think about how we impact the destinations we visit.

That’s why you will see references to responsible travel throughout this blog.

Following a responsible travel framework helps you think through and mitigate the social, economic, and environmental impact of your travel in the destination you visit.
