Playa del Carmen is one of the most popular destinations in the Riviera Maya, and it’s easy to see why. This laid-back city is sprawled along some of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico. It’s host to lively nightlife, incredible restaurants, and it’s perfectly situated amongst all the best excursions the Riviera Maya has to offer.
And, if you’re headed to Playa, one of the best beach towns in Mexico, you might as well stay right on the damn beach!
I’ve curated this list of Airbnbs based on my experience living in Playa del Carmen. These rentals are all well-located in safe and convenient neighborhoods, offer excellent amenities, and have great reviews. While I haven’t stayed in them personally, I would feel completely confident in booking any of these properties.

The kitchen features a full-sized fridge and a cooktop. It’s small but sufficient for whipping up simple meals. There’s a coffeemaker for mornings and a microwave, which is perfect for reheating leftovers!
The unit also offers a balcony with an ocean view. Within the building, you’ll find a rooftop pool and lounge area offering unobstructed views of the ocean. There’s also a jacuzzi, a spa, and a bar area!
Best of all, this Airbnb is located in the heart of 5th Avenue, meaning it’s easy to walk to most attractions, particularly restaurants, beaches, and bars.
Luxury condo in pueblito escondido
This beachfront Airbnb offers everything you could want in a Playa del Carmen accommodation. Not only is the unit just steps from the beach, but the complex also offers two pools, one on the rooftop offering panoramic views of the ocean.
The condo is decorated in a chic, minimalist style, using earth tones to invoke a tranquil, beachy feel. This unit offers one bedroom with a king bed and a living area equipped with a sofa bed. There is a full kitchen with a breakfast bar and a dining area with seating for four people.
The kitchen boasts a full-sized fridge, stove, and microwave, along with plenty of counter space for meal prep.

Located within the gated community of Playacar, this villa is within walking distance of 5th Avenue yet far enough removed to shelter you from the noise of Playa’s party scene.
This would make the perfect spot for a family trip or a girls’ getaway!
Spacious condo in beachfront complex
Located in the Pueblito Escondido complex, this condo offers spacious rooms with contemporary decor.
The unit includes one bedroom with a king bed, a large living area, a dining table that seats four, and a full kitchen with a breakfast bar. With a full-sized fridge and stove, cooking meals in this unit. Plus, there’s a microwave available for reheating takeout.
There is a small balcony off the living room which overlooks the pool area.
While this condo doesn’t offer ocean views from the unit, the complex is located steps from the beach. Additionally, there is a rooftop pool and lounge area that offers ocean views!
Pueblito Escondido sits just a short walk off of 5th Avenue, along Calle 38. This is one of the best areas to stay in Playa del Carmen, as you’re just steps from beaches, bars, restaurants, and more! Best of all, in this location, you’re sheltered from the noise of the 5th Avenue nightlife.
With an abundance of amenities and a fantastic location, this condo makes a lovely place to stay in Playa del Carmen!
Conveniently-located beachfront condo
The decor may be slightly dated, but with all the incredible amenities this beachfront Airbnb has to offer, the last thing you’ll be thinking about is the decor.
The unit offers a kitchen with a full-sized fridge, a cooktop, a microwave, and a toaster oven—the dining table seats four. In the living room, you’ll find 2 built-in sofas with pull-out beds. There is a large, covered terrace off the living area, perfect for sipping your morning coffee or evening drinks.
The bedroom features a king bed, a television, and plenty of clothing storage.
Beyond your room, this condo complex sits in a killer beachfront location and offers multiple pools for guests to enjoy. There is even a pool bar/restaurant open from 9 to 5 each day!
This condo sits at the South end of Playa del Carmen, near the desirable Playacar community. From here, you are within easy walking distance of the beautiful Playacar beaches, the ferry to Cozumel, and everything that 5th Avenue has to offer.
