You’ve been on vacation and dragged your feet every step of the way onto the plane for your flight home.
You’re dreaming of starting a new life in Mexico.
Mexico is your place. Or, at least, you wish it was.
But you have kids, or pets, or aging parents… and a house full of possessions that you’re not sure you can leave behind just yet.
Or you’re years from retirement, and you don’t know how you’ll support yourself if you move to a brand new country.
So you put your Mexico dream on the “someday, maybe” shelf and promise yourself to come back for it later…
I get it. I’ve been there too.
Once I took the leap, my time in Mexico changed my life.
Moving abroad taught me so much about myself. It fueled my passion for travel and for helping solo women travelers like me experience Mexico in a different way than many people do.
That’s why I started a Facebook group for solo women traveling to Mexico. It’s grown to over 23,000 members and become much more than I ever anticipated.
It’s also why I am now launching a brand new, private mastermind (not another Facebook group) called Savvy Women In Mexico.
I’d like to invite you to join me and other like-minded women inside the Savvy Women in Mexico mastermind (SWIMM).
My mission is to help you experience the life-changing transformation that happens when you venture to Mexico in a way that few women do.
With an eye toward responsible travel, cultural immersion, and cultural exchange.
If you’ve been to Mexico before, SWIMM will help you experience it in a whole new way.
If you’re in the midst of planning your first trip, you’ll gain measurable insights and guidance from being involved in our mastermind.
And if a trip to Mexico is further off (even if there’s nothing on the calendar yet) this community will help you eventually do it in a fun, savvy way.
Between now and your future trip, you’ll become excited about the possibilities of life in ways you never imagined, in addition to the actual Mexico travel.
If your goal is to copy/paste your life back home onto a Mexican backdrop, the SWIMM community may not be for you. This mastermind is interested in embracing the local way of life rather than imposing our old one on a new country.
My name is Janine DeVault, and my appetite for adventure began with Mexico trips during childhood. Nobody was surprised when I leaped at the chance to participate in a study abroad program in Xalapa, Mexico during my final year of University.
And, predictably, I’ve never stopped talking about it. 😇
Living in Mexico for 10 months as part of that Spanish immersion program changed the trajectory of my entire life.
It whet my appetite for more travel, and for Mexico in particular. I was enamoured with the country, the culture, and the people!
I returned to Mexico in 2017, and this time I stayed longer. I started a new career in digital marketing, founded the Janine in the World blog, and discovered my passion for creating content to help other women travel and move to Mexico.
Even though I came back to Canada a few years later (#thanksCOVID), the time I spent in Mexico had a massive impact on my life. I knew that I’d be back. I have been. And I’ll continue to go back again and again for the rest of my life.
I’m pouring all of this experience and passion into Savvy Women in Mexico.
Sharing space with fellow smart, savvy, Mexico-enthusiasts will help you see the country and yourself in a new way. Here’s what to expect.
We’ll anticipate challenges and work through solutions in advance. You’ll get a sense of what your life will really look like in Mexico.
Even if it’s a long way off, being part of the SWIM community will help you maintain momentum in working toward this goal.
One of the things I craved most during my time in Mexico was a circle of friends who understood what I was going through. I couldn’t find it in my city, so I sought connections online, and now I’m creating this mastermind so you don’t have to struggle the way I did.
Becoming Mexico-savvy will help you move through the country with more ease and confidence. It will help you stay safe!
I’m nothing if not resourceful, and I’m confident this mastermind will be made up of fellow brainy, resourceful women. We’ll figure stuff out.
I understand you need to know the tangible elements of this community. Here they are.
When you show up and engage with the community, make connections, and join the discussions, the intangible benefits you’ll gain from this experience will be immeasurable.
But if you can’t make it to every call, this mastermind will still enhance your life and fuel your transformation. This experience is about more than just travel and Mexico; it’s about shifting the way you see the world– that is the power of travel, after all!
Ready to throw away that return ticket? Join Savvy Women in Mexico!
If not now, when?
It’s too easy to put off long-term goals or shelve your dreams to act on them someday in the future.
There’s never going to be a good time to completely change your life.
It’s always going to be a challenge. And it’s always going to be scary to take a leap when you’re not totally sure what the outcome will be.
But if the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that things can change at the drop of a hat. And if spending time in Mexico is something that’s important to you, commit to doing it!
Your trip (or move) may be a ways off, and that’s okay. This mastermind will help you put the pieces in place, so when you finally go, you’ll be miles ahead of where you’d have been without it.
You’ve surely heard the adage, “A dream without a plan is just a wish.” Turn your Mexico wish into a plan.
Joining this mastermind is a commitment to your Mexico plan.
Join the mastermind for $77 $37 per month.*
If you’re a Saturday Night Live fan, this mastermind would have aired in ’70s— you know, “back when it was still good.” 😉
In other words, if you like what you’ve seen from me so far, you won’t be disappointed.
*Exclusive price for founding members. It will never be this low again.
The first 10 people to enroll will receive a complimentary 1-hour, 1:1 consultation call with me to ask any questions you have and talk through any Mexico travel or moving logistics that you’re currently struggling with.
If that sounds like a lot of pressure up front, don’t worry! You’ll have 3 months from your purchase date to redeem the call.
I founded the Janine in the World blog in 2017, and have been creating Mexico content ever since.
I’ve been traveling to Mexico since I was in diapers (literally), and spent over 4 years living there, in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo and Xalapa, Veracruz. I’ve visited over 16 states (even Tlaxcala!)– mostly using Mexico’s long-haul bus system, which I LOVE 😍.
I’m an introverted book-worm, but Mexico is a place that forces me out of my shell. I love it so much that I’ve made it my mission to help other women like me experience all that it has to offer.
Also, my friends are sick of hearing me talk about it.
If any of this resonates with you, I hope to see you inside the SWIMM community!
You’re welcome to email me any time at [email protected]
I’m looking forward to getting to know you inside the Savvy Women in Mexico community!
I know Facebook is a familiar platform that most of us already use, but it’s not ideal for a community like this. The algorithm suppresses much of the content that’s posted, meaning lots of questions getting missed. I want this mastermind community to be a space where everyone’s questions are answered. The Circle platform allows us to have a chronological discussion feed, so we won’t miss one another’s posts!
Of course you can! But free content has caveats. It’s not always up-to-date. It often focuses on surface-level consideration, failing to cover logistics or the “cons” column of a given topic. And, there are unethical creators out there who create “guides” to destinations they’ve never even visited…. Just… WHY?
In a mastermind community like this one, you can ask questions freely, knowing you’ll receive thoughtful responses based on others’ experiences and research. It’s not lost on me that you’re making big life decisions based on my recommendations, and I’ll always be transparent about my knowledge and experience.
Travelers are welcome in this community, too! There will be many valuable discussions and premium content pieces that will help you make the most of your travels in Mexico
I totally get it! I didn’t think I was a group person for a long time, either. Even if all you do is lurk and read the discussion board and soak up the premium content, you’ll still get a lot out of this mastermind. You’re welcome to attend calls with your camera off– I will never force you to participate! Calls will also be posted so you can watch the replays.
I, too, feel like I’m rapidly aging out of the ability to learn new tech! The good news is that the Circle platform is VERY intuitive and easy to use. The layout is similar to a Facebook group, but it’s ad-free, and posts are displayed in chronological order. I’ve also created a video walkthrough showing you how to use it! You’ll like it, I promise!
